Under the title "The Dark Side of Management and Governance: power, ideology, tensions and destructive traits", this year's 11th OFEL conference took place in beautiful Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 31/03-01/04/2013. The format is an international research conference on "Economic and Social Development", hosted this year by the University of Dubrovnik.

The European Project Center of the Wismar Business School at Wismar UAS was also present. The programme was divided into four sessions, in which scientists presented their work and research results on different focal points. Dr Laima Gerlitz shared the chair of Session A with Radoslav Barišić. In addition, she presented a research paper jointly written with Christopher Meyer (also EPC) on the topic of "Design and Governing Sustainable Tourism Pathways in Co-Creation with Cultural and Creative Industries" as her own session contribution.

Besides the extensive international conference contributions, all participants were offered sufficient space for exchange and networking. Accordingly, the conference not only served the purpose of research, but also the initiation and preparation of future international research projects, here in particular within the framework of the European research funding programme Interreg Central Europe. For this purpose, the EPC participated in a short workshop with potential partners from Dubrovnik after the conference to explore joint opportunities.
