From 9–13 September 2025, Wismar University of Applied Sciences – represented by the European Project Center (EPC) and project coordinator Elizaveta Diatlova – took the spotlight during the Baltic Ports Organization Conference (BPO 2025) and the DigiTechPort2030 partner meeting in Gdańsk and Gdynia, Poland.

At the AMBEREXPO venue, Diatlova presented the project DigiTechPort2030 – Decarbonisation of small and medium sized ports by Digitalisation, coordinated by Wismar University. Her presentation generated strong interest among port authorities, policymakers, and maritime experts by outlining how digital innovation and green technologies can transform smaller ports in the South Baltic region.

Highlights of the week included:

  • participation in the BALTEXPO – International Maritime and Military Fair, showcasing sustainable port technologies,

  • a guided boat tour through the Port of Gdańsk, with stops at the Grain Quay, Naftoport, and Baltic Hub,

  • and a final workshop at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia, where communication strategies and next project steps were aligned.

Through DigiTechPort2030, Wismar University plays a leading role in shaping a more sustainable and digitally connected future for small and medium-sized ports in the South Baltic region.
