The presentation marked the completion of the cumulative doctoral program consisting of successful completion of doctoral courses in Tallinn and independent publications of scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Dr. Per Servais (Linnaeus University, Sweden) as well as Prof. Dr. Cristina Sousa (University of Lisbon, Portugal) served as opponents and together with Prof. Dr. Mari-Klara Stein, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gerstelberger and Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoffmann (all Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia) formed the examination committee.

Christopher Meyer conducted research at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and Tallinn University of Technology since the beginning of 2019 on regional innovation strategies, especially focusing on Smart Specialization Strategies (S3) and their impact on a regional socio-economic level as well as potentials for sustainability. He led and supervised various innovation projects at the European Project Center of the university, both in the PhD topic itself but also, for example, in the maritime and creative industries.

Christopher Meyer was supervised at Wismar University by Prof. Dr. Gunnar Prause and is thus already the fifth successful doctoral student from the scientific working group of the European Project Center.

As a project staff member at Wismar University, he is also involved in the Extended Senate.
