The event brought together researchers, lecturers and students from the Aurora partner universities and other international higher education institutions to discuss the role of higher education in tackling global challenges and promoting responsible participation in society.

Prof. Dr Ali Arnaout, Professor of International Management at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and coordinator of the Erasmus+ project EUComplianceM4UA, delivered the keynote address entitled ‘Why the World Needs More Risk Takers: Educating Responsible Global Citizens’.
The focus was on how higher education institutions can prepare students for uncertain and complex decision-making environments, and the significance of responsible risk-taking for global citizens.

Dr Anna Fomenko presented the academic paper “Managing Life Responsibly: Integrating Compliance and Ethics Education for Global Citizenship” in relation to the EUComplianceM4UA project. She addressed the importance of ethics and compliance education for responsible behaviour and emphasised the role of integrity, accountability and a sustainable compliance culture.

Through their contributions, the representatives from Wismar University of Applied Sciences took part in the international exchange on future issues in higher education and global responsibility.
