On 27 June 2025, the final round of the student innovation competition on "Digitalisation and Sustainability" was held at the InnovationPort in Wismar. Organised by the Department of Business Informatics at Wismar Business School, the event was led by Prof. Dr. Marianne Schmolke and Prof. Dr. Jöran Pieper.

Five teams from three secondary schools in Wismar, Schwerin, and Lübeck took part. The winning team from Gymnasium Schwerin presented "Mycocapture", a concept for sustainable building materials. Second place went to Gerhart-Hauptmann-Gymnasium Wismar with "Ecoscan", a scanner tool to assess the sustainability of grocery items. Third place was awarded to the Lübeck team for their idea "Scan&Trash", a digital tool to support waste sorting via scanning.

The jury, made up of regional business representatives Felix Schütt (Clicksolutions), Hartmann Schleifer (Carugia), and Jonas Flint (DEJ Technologies), evaluated the pitches. The event provided a professional platform for young talents to present innovative, digital solutions to pressing challenges.
