On 12 June 2026, the final of the ideas competition “Human-centred Digitalisation – Innovative Approaches to Conscious Technology Use (Education, Enablement, Awareness)” took place at InnovationPort Wismar.

The competition was organised by the Wismar Business School at Wismar University of Applied Sciences, within the Business Informatics department, under the leadership of Prof. Dr Marianne Schmolke.

Five teams, each comprising three to four pupils from the Vocational Gymnasium at the Regionalen Berufsbildungszentrum Wirtschaft und Verwaltung Schwerin and the Leistungskurses Wirtschaftsinformatik des Beruflichen Gymnasiums der Friedrich-List-Schule Lübeck, took part in the competition.

First place went to the team “Identity Shield” from Schwerin. The group developed an application that alerts users to potential privacy risks before they publish images or videos on social media. Second place went to the team “Earnie” from Lübeck with an AI-powered app designed to boost concentration and motivation. Third place went to the Schwerin-based team “Abihelfer” with a personalised AI assistant designed to provide support during the Abitur exam period.

The jury consisted of Birger Bösel (Planet IC), Hartmann Schleifer (Carugia) and Dr Hartmut Domröse (Robert Schmidt Institute).

The competition offered participants the opportunity to develop their own ideas for the responsible use of digital technologies, to present them to experts and to gain practical experience in the areas of innovation, teamwork and project development.
