International students welcomed at the town hall

On 11 June 2026, Mayor Thomas Beyer welcomed the international students on the English-taught Master’s programme in International Management.

Together with the programme director, Prof. Dr Ali Arnaout, the students took part in the event in the Bürgerschaftssaal. As well as an introduction to the history and development of the Hanseatic city, the participants were given information on key points of contact and services available in Wismar.

During the discussion that followed, the students had the opportunity to ask questions about their place of study and to share their first impressions, as well as any issues they had encountered during their stay in Germany.

The annual reception has now become a regular feature of the collaboration between Wismar University of Applied Sciences and the Hanseatic City of Wismar. It helps international students settle into their new study and living environment and promotes direct dialogue with the city.
