Conditions for admission
  • A first professionally qualifying university degree (Bachelor’s, Diplom, or equivalent) with at least 180 ECTS credits and an overall grade of 2.5 or better from a degree programme at a national or international higher education institution.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (TOEFL or equivalent) with a minimum score of 80 in the internet-based TOEFL test or an equivalent score, e.g. 6.0 in IELTS. Applicants whose native language is demonstrably English or who have demonstrably obtained their Bachelor’s, Diplom, or equivalent degree from an institution where *English is the language of instruction are exempt from providing such proof.
  • Proof of German language proficiency at level B1 (equivalent to B1.2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Applicants who cannot provide proof of this level at the time of application must, in order to receive conditional admission, provide proof of German language proficiency at level A1 (equivalent to A1.2) according to the CEFR. At the time of application, this proof must not be older than one year. They must then acquire German language proficiency at level B1 alongside their studies at the Language Centre of Wismar University of Applied Sciences in order to be eligible for admission to the Master’s thesis in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the Examination and Study Regulations. Applicants whose native language is demonstrably German or who have demonstrably obtained their Bachelor’s, Diplom, or equivalent degree from an institution where German is the language of instruction are exempt from providing such proof.
  • A minimum of 20 points in the selection procedure, based on the writtenapplication(letter of motivation) in accordance with Annex 1, as well as further criteria in accordance with Annex 2.

Entrepreneur

The Master’s programme in Entrepreneurship is primarily designed to prepare students for self-employment as entrepreneurs and to support them on their journey towards this goal. However, the skills taught are also in high demand within existing companies and, as such, offer excellent career prospects for those in salaried employment.

  • Average salary: €14,300 gross
  • Responsibilities (including, amongst others):
    • Operational and strategic management of the site
    • Sustainable development of the profitable business
    • Ongoing analysis and monitoring of efficiency, profitability and quality
    • Planning and implementing improvement measures in collaboration with the existing management team
    • Management and support of the company’s divisions, including sales and procurement, to achieve the best possible results
    • Overall management of production processes and workflows
    • Point of contact for all the company’s stakeholders, as well as representing the company externally

    • Responsibility for the brand’s creative and strategic communication

Start-up consultant

The knowledge and experience gained during the degree programme enable graduates to advise and support others through the process of setting up a business. Start-up advisers work independently or within the consultancy departments of companies, banks, trade associations or public-sector organisations.

    • Providing start-up and business consultancy
    • Business analysis, profitability and strategic consultancy
    • Developing and implementing sector-specific projects in a constantly changing market environment

Fund manager

Anyone wishing to work in fund management should enjoy analysing business models and finances. Our Master’s programme in Entrepreneurship equips students with the necessary skills. Specialists in IT, design and business are also in demand, as fund investments are often focused on specific sectors.

  • Average salary: €4,871 gross
  • Responsibilities (including, amongst others):
    • Collaboration with the assigned specialist departments
    • Development and implementation of controlling and forecasting systems
    • Reporting to senior management or divisional management
    • Depending on your level of expertise, this may also include the in-house development of SaaS solutions for clients
    • Identifying current developments (legal, technical, economic) within your area of responsibility
    • Analysing customer behaviour
    • Providing advice and recommendations on existing marketing channels based on your analyses

Application procedure

Procedure of your Application

For the registration and application process, our university distinguishes between two categories of applicants:

1. applicants from Germany or an EU member state

2. applicants from Non-European countries

Please follow the explanatory text and the application process for your category.

1. Registration at the application portal of Wismar UAS

When you register, you enter general information about yourself and create your personal profile in our application and study administration portal. This is the first step towards applying for a degree programme. You can change the language of the portal to english.

2. Application for your degree programme

After successful registration, you will receive an email with your access data. Within the application deadlines, you can log in to the study portal and apply for your degree programme.

3. Print out, » fill out documents «, send off

Once you have applied for a degree programme in the application and study administration portal, an application document is automatically created at the end. This document lists further documents relevant for admission, which you must now compile, e.g. the above mentioned mandatory requirements, the competitive formal requirements and so on. You then send both the printed application document and all other needed documents by post to the address given on the document. Remember that it can take several days or weeks for your letter to be received by our Immatriculation Office (depends from where you send your letters).

4. Fingers crossed

If you have successfully submitted all the documents, you will usually receive a letter of acceptance or rejection for your degree programme no later than 2-4 weeks after the application deadline. If anything is missing on your documents you will get a notice at the application and study administration portal, so check out once a day, if there are updates regarding your application.  If you receive a letter of acceptance you can log in to your application and study administration portal and officially register for your degree programme. As soon as you have transferred the semester fee for your first semester, you are officially enrolled. Dont forget to plan your trip, prepare everything and organise a place in one of our student dorms.

Nationals from Non-EU countries apply for the Master programme in Entrepreneurship from 15th October until until 10th December for summer intake via uni-assist.

Non-EU prospective students without any German university entrance certificate or who haven't graduated from a German institution of higher education yet have to apply for the Master in Entrepreneurship via the University Application Service for International Students (UNI-ASSIST).

The date of receipt of all documents as well as the processing fee for uni assist are of essential importance. The Processing fee of uni assist accounts € 75 (or € 30 for every other university). To guarantee a rapid processing, the chance to answer open questions, request missing documents at due date, we suggest to apply as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that an incomplete application can not be processed by uni assist!

The processing through uni assist can take several weeks. In the meantime, please do not inquire about your application status. You will be informed as soon as a decision has been made.
