Start of studies at the Wismar Business School

For first-year students at the Wismar Business School, the academic year began as early as 14 September 2026. 
Students on the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Business Administration, Business Informatics and Business Psychology took part in a one-week maths refresher course organised by the Faculty of Engineering. Meanwhile, the prospective business law students began with a team-building session organised by PhD student Julian Reeh.

On 21 September, Dean Prof. Dr Kai Neumann and Director of Studies Prof. Dr rer. nat. Tobias Brendel welcomed the faculty’s new students. During the orientation week, the focus was not only on providing information about the degree programmes, but also on getting to know one another.

University-wide highlights of the orientation week were the formal enrolment ceremony on 23 September and the subsequent freshers’ fair. Around 2,090 new students, studying on-campus and via distance learning, were welcomed to Wismar University for the winter semester. At the freshers’ fair, the new students were then able to find out about the university’s programmes, student initiatives and key figures from the Hanseatic city. The week concluded with the CampusOpenAir, organised by the AStA.
