Professor Madeleine Tolani, together with Professor (emeritus) Jürgen Kohler, presented their research findings in the highly complex field of private environmental liability law to the Minister for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs, Ms Bettina Martin.

Professor Tolani is the sole author of the entire volume of the ‘Staudinger BGB Environmental Liability Law’, comprising 1,064 pages, which was published in August 2026 as part of the renowned comprehensive commentary series on J. von Staudinger’s Commentary on the Civil Code. The production of this commentary reflects the excellent cooperation between Wismar University of Applied Sciences and the University of Greifswald, and was duly recognised by the Minister.
