She conducted her research in the Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC), where she was supervised by Maribel Blasco and Annemette Kjærgaard.
Her stay focused on international and interdisciplinary academic exchange, as well as the further development of her own research perspectives. The vibrant academic culture at the MSC Department was particularly influential. Formats such as writing sessions, reading circles, research cluster meetings, and close integration into an active PhD community created a stimulating yet supportive working environment that fostered new theoretical insights.
Given the thematic proximity to the research work of the two academics supervising her, Johanna Oster had taken the initiative to contact Copenhagen Business School before the start of her stay. This ultimately led to the invitation to the Danish capital.
Johanna Oster received a research grant for doctoral candidates from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for her research stay. The selection committee received a total of 145 applications, of which 65 were awarded funding.
Johanna Oster extends her heartfelt thanks to Maribel Blasco and Annemette Kjærgaard for their hospitality and the enriching exchange during her time there. She also thanks her home UAS in Wismar, her two doctoral supervisors at the University of Rostock, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for their support and the financial funding of her research stay. Back in Wismar, Johanna continues to work as a research assistant at our Faculty “Wismar Business School”. There, as a collaborative PhD student, she is investigating the role of multidimensional learning environments in the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in university business studies.
