Based within the Faculty of Engineering, the institute brings together interdisciplinary research and teaching at the interface between engineering, medicine and the natural sciences. Current projects range from contactless vital signs monitoring and AI-assisted caries detection to digital care concepts, exoskeletons and innovative cancer diagnostics.
A visual highlight of the event was the presentation of a robot dog, which will in future be equipped with sensor technology for home care.
At the same time, with its Bachelor’s degree programme in Applied Medical Technology, our university is strengthening the training of future specialists for the medicine of tomorrow.
