On Wednesday 23 September 2026, over 100 first-year students stopped by the stand run by our Didactics, E-Learning and Quality Management team – known as DEQ for short.
Amidst the colourful freshers’ fair, the focus here was on the topic of evaluation. In addition to its core remit – which includes regular surveys on quality control and the continuous improvement of study conditions – the DEQ team had once again conducted the freshers’ fair survey. Across three thematic sections, each with three questions, the team sought the most common response. The free-text comments also provided plenty of food for thought. And quite a few choices yielded a result with an absolute majority: a free pass to sleep in, a tutor with human intelligence, or exams at a spa. For our DEQ team, this fun survey served as a direct way to engage with students and lay the foundations for our future collaboration, whilst asking all students to participate actively in future surveys. This is because the individual degree programmes are evaluated on a regular basis. Constructive feedback is essential for this, as it helps us to maintain or improve our quality standards. The DEQ expressly points out that these surveys are, of course, anonymous and cannot be traced. Even though they are conducted via students’ personal Stud.IP accounts, the interface is configured in such a way that it is impossible to determine whether a student has taken part in the survey, or what they have rated or commented on.
