Muzhdah Shayan impresses not only through her academic achievements, her great personal commitment and her extraordinary educational journey, which she has consistently pursued despite the difficult political situation in Afghanistan. She is particularly committed to our international student community and, as team leader and main organiser, has successfully helped to organise numerous intercultural events at Wismar University of Applied Sciences (International Day 2025) and in the Hanseatic city of Wismar (KUNO Cultural Festival), thereby strengthening the bond between international students and the local community.
She has achieved excellent results and won awards as part of a team in ideas competitions and, since the start of the year, has been contributing her experience as a student assistant to her International Management degree programme. Her strong sense of responsibility is particularly noteworthy. The 25-year-old wishes to use her own educational opportunities to inspire and encourage other women and girls – especially those from Afghanistan.
