TEST-4-SME: Lab Staff Training and Project Partner Meeting

Lab Staff Training:

During the Lab Staff Training Event in Tartu (Estonia) from the 9th to 10th of October 2019, next to workshops about “good laboratory practices” and further training sessions, the project partners (PPs) of the EU-project TEST-4-SME presented their institutions, labs and testing services to a consortium of SMEs from the BSR that produce and develop electronic products. The related presentations in the case of PP8 (Hochschule Wismar) were covered by our EPC-members at Hochschule Wismar: Robert Philipp and Adham Mansur. Also, the invited testing partner of the Hochschule Wismar, namely EnviteC, who tested the testing services of our university on the 17th of July 2019, presented his company and related business interests – EnviteC from Wismar was represented by John-Eric Kamps.

The TEST-4-SME-project comprises nine project partners from different BSR countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Germany) that form a network of laboratories in order to support innovations in the BSR and to provide lab testing services, consultations, characterisations and conformity assessments for SMEs in the region that produce and develop electronic products. This network is growing: During the event in Tartu, a new member was presented and thus, entered the network, whereby further labs from the region already indicated their interest. Therefore, it can be expected that further labs will join the TEST-4-SME network during the next months and in the long-term future.

Project Partner Meeting:

The Project Partner Meeting of the EU-project TEST-4-SME took place on the 11th of October 2019 in Tartu (Estonia). Since the project started two years ago and thus, will end in September 2020, further ideas for the last two periods as well as the progress in the different work packages were discussed. Thereby, Dr. Eunice Omolola Olaniyi as a representative of our EPC team at Hochschule Wismar (PP8) among other things presented the next steps in the course of WP5. By doing so, the main crucial points were the presentation of the background and analysis approach as well as followed discussion about the ideal price point of services for the TEST-4-SME network that needs to be researched in the upcoming months by the EPC team and with the contribution of all project partners.
